Cyrel® EASY Plate Platform Addresses Diverse Needs

Cyrel® EASY plates are based on a photopolymer technology that produces higher ink transfer, color saturation and resolution. The platform simplifies the prepress process by building flat top digital dots directly into the plate, resulting in increased productivity and improved print quality.

Other products include:

• Cyrel® EASY EPR for a wide range of substrates. This digital plate, featuring built-in flat top dots, has a smooth surface ideally suited for the micro-screening of solids.
• Cyrel® EASY ESP, specially designed for flexible packaging. This plate offers built-in flat top dots and an engineered surface for higher solid ink density without micro-screening.
• Cyrel® FAST EASY EFX for thermal workflows. It is designed for the highest quality printing of halftones, linework and solids. Its smooth surface is ideal for micro-screening of solids and offers exceptionally high solid ink density transfer and low dot gain.
• Cyrel® EASY ESX is the solvent-based process version of the FAST EASY EFX plate.
• Cyrel® FAST EASY EFE for thermal workflows.  Designed for flexible packaging and tag & label applications, it offers built-in flat top dots and an engineered surface for higher solid ink density without micro-screening.

Cyrel® FAST 2000 TD Promotes Solvent-free Sustainability

The Cyrel® FAST 2000TD thermal processor is the latest-generation technology in the company’s FAST processor portfolio. The Cyrel® FAST technology enables production of high-quality plates by combining the efficiency and speed of digital imaging with the sustainability benefits of thermal plate processing,namely, the reduction in environmental impact by eliminating the use of solvents for plate wash-out. This innovative equipment also shortens cycle times because it requires no drying operations.

A Life Cycle Assessment conducted by ������ using ISO (International Organization for Standardization) 14040 guidelines for environmental management demonstrated that flexography in packaging offered a 50 percent savings in carbon emission and nonrenewable energy source consumption compared to gravure printing. The second step in the ISO Life Cycle Assessment conducted by ������ demonstrated that the Cyrel® FAST 2000TD processor yielded up to 53 percent savings in carbon emission and up to a 63 percent reduction in nonrenewable energy source consumption compared to a solvent-based workflow.
